This is pretty hard...

This slideshow assignment is harder than I thought it would be. Are you guys using personal photos or just random pics that you find on the internet? Are you relating it to your final project?

Maybe I'm not imaginative enough, I feel like everything I try to put together is the corniest thing of the century......

I agree, it's not easy to create a slideshow that's not "corny" but informative. I went with the what's useful approach.

And you actually gave me the idea of creating something for my project website. I'm redesigning a school website and with photos from the school I will illustrate activities, curriculum etc. so it will be more interesting for students and parents to look at.

Mel, I agree! I'm having trouble finding photos that would create a useful/informative story as well. Did you end up using personal photos or random photos you found online? Unfortunately I can't relate it to my final project, as I have no photos for that organization. I think I might use photos from a service trip that I went on and create a slideshow that I could use for future fundraising efforts.

Definitely having a hard time making it a "photo essay". Using personal photos is probably going to look amateurish unless I have a strong story or theme of place or time. I think I'll just have to pull up images off the Web.

Maybe finding an argument you want first will help? That's the approach I'm going for. Other classmates' ideas of using something related to work (being useful) seem good too.

hopefully the prof will read these posts and give us a break on grading? :) anyway, good luck! --Hana
